JANITORIAL SERVICES

REQUEST FOR BIDS

 

  1. WORK LOCATION

Lincoln County Power District No. 1 (Power District) Administrative and Operations buildings.  201 Bullionville Road, Panaca, Nevada 

  1. BONDING REQUIREMENT

The selected contractor will be required to provide a surety bond in the amount $25,000.

  1. TERM OF SERVICE

The contractor will be selected for a three year term, provided however, should the contractor fail to perform services as scheduled or to the satisfaction of the Power District, the contractor may be terminated by the Power District upon thirty days written notice.

  1. INVOICING

The contractor will invoice monthly for services.  The contractor’s invoice shall be itemized to match the scope of work listed below and the contractor’s bid prices.

  1. TAXES, PERMITS AND LICENSES

The contractor will be an independent contractor to the Power District and will not be an employee.  The contractor is responsible for the payment of all federal and states taxes, and to obtain all permits and licenses that may be necessary to provide janitorial services to the Power District.  The selected contractor will be required to provide information to the Power District including tax identification or social security numbers that will allow the Power District to prepare and report income paid to the contractor.

  1. SCOPE OF WORK

The contractor shall perform janitorial services in the Power District’s Administrative building and in the Power District’s Operations building.

  1. Weekly Janitorial Service During Normal Work Hours.  The selected contractor and the Power District shall establish a set time for janitorial services during the Power District’s normal work hours (7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).  On the day and time established, once each week the contractor shall:
  1. Lightly clean Bathrooms, including sweeping floors and cleaning toilets, urinals, sinks and mirrors
  2. Lightly clean Kitchen, including sweeping floors and cleaning counter tops, tables and chairs
  3. Sweep Administrative building entrance (outside) and customer waiting area (inside)
  4. Empty all trash cans in Operations and Administration buildings
  5. Vacuum carpeted offices in Operations building
  6. Sweep concrete floors in Operations building
  1. Weekly Janitorial Service During Non-Work Hours.  Once each week after the Power District’s offices are closed to the public, the contractor shall:
  1. Fully clean Bathrooms, including mopping floors, and cleaning toilets, urinals, sinks and mirrors
  2. Fully clean Kitchen, including mopping floors, and cleaning counter tops, tables and chairs
  3. Empty all trash cans in Administration building
  4. Vacuum carpeted offices in Administration building
  5. Wipe down counter tops in Work area of Administration building
  6. Clean drinking fountain
  7. Sweep and mop all concrete floors in Administration building
  1. Monthly Janitorial Service During Non-Work Hours.  Once each month after the Power District’s offices are closed to the public, the contractor shall:
  1. Dust blinds
  2. Wash window interiors of Conference room, Waiting area, Kitchen, and all doors with Windows
  3. Wash window exteriors of Conference room, Waiting area, Kitchen, and all doors with Windows
  4. Dust and polish furniture and wood doors in the Administration building
  1. Six Month Janitorial Service During Normal Work Hours.  The selected contractor and the Power District shall establish a set time for janitorial services during the Power District’s normal work hours (7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).  On the day and time established, once every six months the contractor shall:
  1. Mop and wax concrete floors in Operations building
  2. Clean base boards in Operations building
  1. Six Month Janitorial Service During Non-Work Hours.  Once every six months after the Power District’s offices are closed to the public, the contractor shall:
  1. Mop and wax concrete floors in Administration building
  2. Clean base boards in Administration building
  1. Annual Janitorial Service During Normal Work Hours.  The selected contractor and the Power District shall establish a set time for janitorial services during the Power District’s normal work hours (7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).  On the day and time established, once each year the contractor shall:
  1. Shampoo carpets in Operations building
  1. Annual Janitorial Service During Non-Work Hours.  Once each year after the Power District’s offices are closed to the public, the contractor shall:
  1. Shampoo carpets in Administration building
  2. Clean refrigerator and microwave interiors
  3. Clean interiors of Kitchen cabinets and drawers

                 7.  JANITORIAL CARE ITEMS

The Power District will furnish the following cleaning items for use by the selected contractor.

  1. Rolling Mop Bucket
  2. Mop
  3. Vacuum
  4. Broom
  5. Dust Pan
  6. Carpet Shampoo Machine
  7. Rolling 30 Gallon Garbage Can
  8. Blind Duster

Any item not listed above, but necessary for the services to be provided by the contractor, shall be furnished by the contractor.  The Power District will furnish cleaners, polishes, and floor waxes.  The contractor will be responsible to notify the Power District when supplies need to be restocked.  The contractor will be responsible to provide cleaning rags, sponges, towels and similar items and shall launder and clean these items as necessary.  The contractor’s cleaning rags, sponges, towels and similar items will not be stored on Power District property.

  1. CONTRACTOR BID AMOUNT

The contractor shall be paid a fixed fee for services based on the scope of work indicated above and the amount bid by the contractor for each element of the scope of work.    The contractor will be allowed to increase the fees for service after 18 months by the percentage identified below:
