The Power District is accepting applications for the following position:
This is a full time position with benefits. The selected applicant will be required to participate in the District’s drug screening and testing program. The engineering technician will assist in (1) preparing line extension designs, bill of materials, and estimates, (2) conducting field surveys and GIS mapping, (3) staking planned projects for construction, (4) preparing specifications for material purchasing, (5) performing on-site inspection of construction projects and performing construction management of out-sourced construction activities, including the preparation of pay estimates, (6) assisting in the acquisition of rights-of-way and in the preparation of necessary documents for NEPA compliance, (7) assisting in the preparation of distribution system maintenance practices and procedures, (8) preparing basic electric load calculations, including conductor sizing and voltage drop calculations, (9) conducting inspections and energy audits to implement the District’s energy conservation activities and programs.
This position will report to the Engineering and Operations Manager. Starting wage $22.00 per hour.
Training will be provided by the Power District for this position; however, to be considered applicants should have demonstrated capabilities in drafting, GIS mapping, electric utility design, electric utility construction, or electrical theory.
