Solar power offers many benefits for Lincoln County Power and our customers.
Solar power can help reduce energy losses in our electric distribution system and can help to diversify our resource mix so that we are less susceptible to price fluctuations in the wholesale power markets.
In 2015, we constructed and placed into operation the first community solar project in Nevada. It is a 150 kW, fixed axis, solar photovoltaic plant that is located next to our headquarters in Panaca, Nevada. Annually this plant produces about 250,000 kilowatthours of energy, or enough for about 25 homes in Lincoln County.
Contact Lincoln County Power at 775-728-8200 for more information about our community solar project.
In addition, we offer net metering services for solar generating systems that meet Lincoln County Power's design and installation standards. It is important that you contact Lincoln County Power to discuss the proposed installation before purchasing or installing a renewable energy system. We have specific design and installation standards that must be met to protect the safety of our lineman and the utility grid.
Net Metering installations located on residential services in Lincoln County Power's service area are limited to 10 kW DC output or less. It is important that you contact us before installing a solar generating system at your home.
